Trees comma trees

Here’s a shot taken a few years back on one of those uncommon occasions when Dallas received enough snowfall to cover the ground.

Upon processing, I liked the way the stark b&w conversion served to simplify the scene and give it geometrical punch — but something just didn’t look right to me.

I finally figured out that the concrete drainage channel was forming what amounted to a comma – only reversed. So for purposes of titling the image, I flipped it horizontally — and everything fell into place.
